Arlo Marcus Hanson

Arlo Marcus Hanson, 89, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Arlo was born on April 23, 1927, to Alvin and Martha (Rovang) Hanson, at home one mile north of Dalton. He was baptized at St. Olaf Church in rural Dalton and attended country school near his home.
On July 11, 1948, Arlo was united in marriage to LeVonne Swenson at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Over the years, he was the owner of Dalton Construction, a partner in Dieseth Construction and in 1983, he became an owner/partner of H & R Const. with Wayne Ronning. In the late 1960s, early 1970s, he helped design the PDE Pounder Truck in California.
Arlo was a good-natured and easy-going, man of few words, who enjoyed the movie Dennis the Menace. He was a “tease” and loved to laugh. He always looked forward to Christmas and The Fourth Of July. Arlo could be found every morning at the Big Chief, except for Christmas Day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Martha Hanson; a son, Mark Hanson; a sister, Anita (Archie) Salvevold; and a brother, LeRoy (Carol A.) Hanson.
Arlo is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, LeVonne Hanson of Fergus Falls; his children, Lon (Sue) Hanson, Susan (John) Olson, Carol Hanson, Myrna (Jim) VanWatermulen, Elizabeth (Chad) Nelson; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Trent Eineichner) Martinson, Jamie (Travis) Adams, Kevin (Tana) Hanson, Tony (Melissa) Olson, Katie (Craig) Brye, Ryan (Lindsay Haugen) Olson , Stephanie (Jay) Lunde, Michael Hanson, Matt (Tori) VanWatermulen, Megan (A.J.) Lunde, Carly (Nate Larson) VanWatermulen, Hannah Nelson and Sam Nelson; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 4:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Olson Funeral Home with a public prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
Service: 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Our Savior’s Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church in Dalton.
