Arlin Joe Hjelmstad

Arlin (Joe) Hjelmstad, 85, of Fergus Falls, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at his residence.

Arlin (Joe) Hjelmstad was born October 2, 1939, to Joe and Minnie (Schwartz) Hjelmstad in Ryder, ND.

He attended New Town High School graduating in 1957. He furthered his education at Willmar Community College graduating in 1987 with a degree in Nursing.

On July 18, 1964 Arlin married Cheryl Laub in St. Paul.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Jeanne (Dave) Redepenning, Joseph (D.J.) and James (Amber); six grandchildren, Austin (Erin) Redepenning, Cole (Reedyn Hansen) Redepenning, Blaine (Berit) Hjelmstad, Joey Hjelmstad, Megan Hjelmstad and Tyler Hjelmstad; two great-grandchildren, Jadelyn and Maeve; siblings, Carol Settel and Kent (Connie) Hjemstad.

A private family service will be held.
