Arlene Sylvia Lee, 83, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, February 28, 2011, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. She was born January 18, 1928, in Rothsay, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and (Edna) Gladys (Heggen) Honrud. She attended country school, and then graduated from Rothsay High School. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rothsay. On June 4, 1949, she married Raymond Lee in Fergus Falls. She worked at the Highway Greenhouse, and at Swedberg Nursery. She spent many years at the Broen Memorial Home where she was an aide and also assisted with many activities with the residents. During her years in Fergus Falls, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She volunteered with many organizations, including Lakeland Hospice. Arlene enjoyed doing crafts, making and working with floral arrangements, plants, and gardening. She really enjoyed genealogy and became the family history resource person. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, as well as spending time in Florida. Arlene had a special place in her heart for cats and all things related to cats. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ray, in January of 1981; and a sister, Lorraine Shirley. Survivors include two children: Larry J. Lee of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Richard Lee of Fergus Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
