Arlen “Arlie” Albert Kort, 81, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at his residence.
Arlie was born May 2, 1940, to Albert and Mabel (Olson) Kort in Fergus Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church. He lived on the farm his entire life and went to country school one and a half miles from home. He was a dairy farmer for 50 years and also farmed the land. He sold seed to farmers for 41 years. Arlie and his friend, Bud Muhlenbeck worked together for many years doing carpentry work.
On September 26, 1959, Arlie married Victoria (Vicky) Maack at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Elizabeth.
He was a life member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and serving on the church board for 21 years. In his early years he enjoyed snowmobiling. Arlie enjoyed car racing with his friend, Bob Pourrier at the Wee Town Race Track and enjoyed watching the races in Fergus Falls, where his son Kurt and grandsons Zach, Matthew, Mark and Justin raced.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert and Mabel Kort; brother-in-law, Andrew Kollar, and niece, Arlene Weers.
Arlie is survived by his wife, Vicky; children, Paul (Pam) Kort of Elizabeth, Kurt (Shelly) Kort of Fergus Falls, and Lori (Russ) Craig of Erhard; sister, Vivian Kollar of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Melissa Milbeck (Chad Norgren), Matthew (Lisa) Milbeck, Mark (Sam) Milbeck, Justin (Courtney) Kort, Travis Kort, Paige Kort, and Zachary Kort; 10 great-grandchildren, Emma, Lillian, Henry, Ruby, Wyatt, Sawyer, Avery, Makenna, Jayce, and Kaiden.
Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with a prayer service at 5:45 p.m.
