Arlen Emil Grewe, 65, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Lakeland Hospice House in Fergus Falls under the care of Hospice staff. He was born September 4, 1944, in Fergus Falls, the son of Emil and Mathilda (Mathieson) Grewe. He worked at the National “T” Packing Plant, and then started with the City of Fergus Falls in 1970. He retired in 2001 due to disability and health problems. On June 23, 1987, he married Clarice Nygaard Solberg. They made their home in Fergus Falls. Arlen was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Deer Hunters Association, and First Lutheran Church. He was a toy car collector, and loved to hunt and fish, and spend time outdoors mowing grass. Survivors include his wife, Clarice Grewe of Fergus Falls; his siblings, Dorothy (Robert) Kressin of Wyndmere, ND, and Lloyd (Luann) Grewe of Fergus Falls; four brothers-in-law: Marvin (Diane) Nygaard of Grand Rapids, MN, Ken (Marilyn) Nygaard of Sioux Falls, SD, Roger Nygaard of Moorhead, and Tim Nygaard of Moose Lake, MN; a stepson, Logan (Lynae) Solberg of Fergus Falls; and stepgrandchildren, Reed and Breidyn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
