Ardis Rieken

Ardis Rieken, 88, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Ardis Elaine Baglien was born February 26, 1936 to Henry and Evelyn (Eggen) Baglien in Pelican Rapids. She attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1954. She was an LPN at the Fergus Falls State Hospital. She worked at the State Hospital for over 40 years, and loved every day she worked there.

On November 8, 1954, Ardis married Willard Rieken in Fergus Falls.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Playing card and dice games, working on puzzles, reading, planting flower gardens, and traveling were some of her favorite things.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Evelyn; husband, Willard; son, Barry; brothers, Milt and Gene; sister, Delores; brother-in-law, Jim Mesna; sister-in-law, Sally Baglien; brother-in-law, Melvin Nord; father and mother-in-law, William and Bertha Rieken; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and Bernard Fossan; sister-in-law, LaVilla Nelson; brother-in-law, Dale Rieken; numerous other relatives, and her dogs, Fraulein, Gretchen, and Millie.

Ardis is survived by her children, Sandra Rieken of Coon Rapids, Ron (Melanie) Rieken of Erhard, Brenda (Eric) Johnson of Ramsey, and Niki (Tim) Lill of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Steve (Carlie) Rieken, Stephanie (Nathan) Hoff, Michael (Megan) Rieken, Rylee Rieken, Brinna Rieken, Tim Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Amanda (Luke) Samuelson, and Joe (Brianna Harthun) Swenson; 11 great-grandchildren, Demi, Theo, Ayla, Jane, Poppy, Thea, Winsome, Bentley, Maci, Lexie, and Jack; sister, Sharon Mesna; sister-in-law, Janice Rieken; beloved "Grandma's boy", Logan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls, MN
