Anne Sheryl Pullen, 59, of Wendell, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at CentraCare in St. Cloud, MN.
Anne was born to Sarah and Francis Pullen on November 22, 1956, in Manchester, NH. She attended schools in Florida and Connecticut, and had two years of college in Seattle, WA. Her work years included time spent as a factory worker, a waitress and a secretary. Anne was especially proud of having completed a season on a commercial fishing boat in Alaskan waters during winter.
Anne loved reading, science, politics, and environmentalism, and donated what she could to several charities. During most of the last five years of her life, she was a vegetarian. She was proud of giving up for adoption a baby boy when she was 17, knowing that that painful choice would be better for him. Anne was grateful for having lived a full life, despite her long struggle with Bipolar 2 and fatigue. She always said that her pineal gland must have been put in backwards, since she had difficulty sleeping before the sun came up. Her hope for others were that they be kind, charitable, and patient.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Campbell of Imperial Beach, CA; her long time, partner Keith Wilson of Wendell; and her niece, Kimberly Emery of Midwest City, OK. Anne’s sister, Arlene Brisart-Gordon and her father, Francis Pullen preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Doctors Without Borders USA, PO Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030.
