Anna E. Ordal, 104, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. She was born June 23, 1903, in Orwell Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Otilia (Hill) Sholberg. She attended school in District #197, and then attended Fergus Falls High School with Teacher's Training, graduating in 1922. She taught in rural schools in Otter Tail County for seven years. On June 16, 1929, she married John Almer Ordal of DeLamere, ND. They had three children, Loren, Merlyn, and Verla. Almer passed away on June 10, 1955. After his death she worked at Lake Region Hospital for 15 years as a Nurse's Aide before retiring. Anna enjoyed doing all kinds of handwork, made dozens of pretty quilts, and crocheted and knit many afghans. She loved flowers and always had them in her home. She also enjoyed writing, and wrote to all her nieces and nephews, family and friends. She compiled a family history, starting with her grandparents, which was given to all in her family. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and was very active in the work in her younger years. She enjoyed the Dorcas Circle and the Golden Age fellowship. Preceding her in death were her husband, John Almer Ordal; her son, Loren; her parents; five sisters, Minda Meder, Clara Sholberg, Lillie Bodeen, Selma Leen and Mabel Hanson; two brothers, Julius and Oscar Sholberg; and a son-in-law, Guy Spitsberg; Survivors include her son, Merlyn (Carol) of Parkers Prairie; a daughter, Verla (Charlie) Hohman of Marquette, Michigan; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Ordal of Jamestown, ND.
