Ann Magnuson, 93, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at PioneerCare Suites in Fergus Falls.
She was born August 3, 1920, in Wyndmere, ND, the daughter of Carl and Bertina (Juven) Benson. She attended Madison Elementary School and Washington High School in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1938.
On May 25, 1940, Ann married Russell Magnuson at the Wesley Temple Methodist Church in Minneapolis. She was employed at Strutware Knitting Co. in Minneapolis and later after moving to Fergus Falls, she was the manager of the hot lunch program at Fergus Falls High School.
Ann was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, baking, fishing, gardening and bird watching.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Russell; a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Donald Randall; a brother and sister-on-law, Emil and Katie Benson; a brother-in-law, Harold Sonmor and a nephew, Butch Randall.
Survivors include her children, Rozzie (Roger) Rinke of New Brighton, Carolyn (Ron) Wubbena of Fort Myers, FL and Thomas (Pati) Magnuson of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Tina (Ken) Gladen of Moundsview, Tara (Pat) Tracy of Fridley, Elizabeth (Charlie) Mikesell of Eagan, and Tony (Karmen Castro) Miller of Crystal; great-grandchildren, Taylor Gladen (fiancé, James Bennett), Wyatt Tracy and Hannah Mikesell; a sister, Ella Sonmor of Fergus Falls along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice or Grace United Methodist Church, Fergus Falls.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 12, 2014, Grace United Methodist Church, Fergus Falls with Reverend Wes Gable and Chaplain Harry Olson officiating. Burial will be in Our Saviors Cemetery, Dalton.
