Anna May Ames

Anna May Ames, 90, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Park Gardens in Fergus Falls. Anna passed peacefully surrounded by her family.

Anna was born on May 26, 1927, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Herman and Gertrude (Tolbert) Seeba. She attended Otter Tail County #207 country school through 8th grade. She then attended Fergus Falls High School and graduated in 1945. After high school she attended Hamline University and graduated in 1948 with a degree in nursing. She went on to further her education at the University of Minnesota and graduated with a nurse anesthetist degree; and later received her master’s degree in Anesthesiology.

On June 10, 1950, Anna was united in marriage to Earl Ames in St. Louis Park, MN. Through the years she worked as a nurse anesthetist at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis, Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park and also the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, retiring in 1988.

She was a past Noble Grand at the St. Louis Park IDOF Lodge, a member of the Rebekah Lodge, a life member of the St. Louis Park American Legion Auxiliary and also a member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gertrude; husband, Earl, who died November 17, 2016; brothers, John, Herman and Ronnie Seeba and sister, Coradelle Somer.

Anna is survived by a son, Lance Ames of Underwood; a daughter, Cheryl (Kelsey) Dehn of Eagan; four grandchildren, Ronnie Ames, Carrie Ames, Brian Dehn and Casey Dehn; three great-grandchildren, Mason Earl Ames, Madison May Wynn and Carter Daniel Wynn; and brother, Vernon (Loris) Seeba of Fergus Falls.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with a public prayer service at 6:30 PM, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 1:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Stavanger Lutheran Church in rural Fergus Falls

Clergy: Pastor Seth Johnston and Pastor John Juhl

Interment: Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery in rural Fergus Falls
