Amund B. Haarstad

Amund Benjamin Haarstad, 38, a resident of Fergus Falls, MN, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

He was born October 16th, 1979 in Fergus Falls, MN, to Michael and Joyce (McCormick) Haarstad, the second oldest of nine children.

Amund was the father of two beautiful children whom he adored, Hope – 18, and Ethan – 10. He loved fishing with his children, going to the park, and hanging out with friends doing karaoke.

Amund was a hard-working man with a talent and passion for drywall. He could build anything and was always proud of the work he accomplished. Amund also enjoyed giving haircuts to family and friends.

Our kids will miss playing games with Amund. They always stood around him waiting for their turn to ride on his back or get thrown in the air. We will not be able to hear the song ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ without thinking of Amund. His big grin and bear hugs will be greatly missed.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Richard and Louise Haarstad, and Bob and Ruby McCormick

Survivors include his mother, Joyce Moser; father Michael Haarstad; children, Hope Haarstad and Ethan Haarstad; his sisters, Melissa (Paul) Peterson, Emilyn Haugen, Hannah (Glen) Westra, Sadyebeth (Tony) Rupp, Cholena Haarstad, Addaleigh Delgado, Maeve Haarstad; his brother, Lucas Haarstad; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the funeral home

Service: 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls

Clergy: Pastor Brad Childs

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
