Alva Cornelle Kielmeyer, 96, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Concordia Nursing and Rehab Center in Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was born August 22, 1915, in Kilbourn, Wisconsin, (now called Wisconsin Dells), the daughter of Helmer and Florence (Lecy) Hanson. She was baptized in the Wisconsin Lutheran Church. At the age of seven she moved with her family to Fergus Falls, where she became a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was confirmed and married at Bethlehem by Reverend J. A. Quello. Alva and Lloyd Kielmeyer were married in June of 1935 in Fergus Falls. They had one son, Virgil. They farmed in Buse and Dane Prairie Townships, and Alva also worked at Lakeland Motel and F.W. Woolworths until she retired in 1984. She served on the School Board for District #28, and was also a 4 H leader in Dane Prairie. She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, participating in Ladies Aide, Circle, Friendly Visitor, V.S.P., Altar Guild, Bible Study, and Love Day. She was also a member of the Y’s Folks, and the Friendship Club in Dane Prairie Township. Alva’s family was the center of her life, and she loved them so much and was always very proud of them. The church played a major role in her life as well, which showed through her strong Christian faith. Her friendships with many also brought her much joy. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd Kielmeyer; her sister, Ruth (Carl) Anderson; her brother, Russel (Mae) Hanson; a niece, Lynn Branson; and two nephews, Alen Anderson and James Fosness. Survivors include her son, Virgil (Karen) Kielmeyer of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a grandson, Scott (Heather) Kielmeyer of East Bethel, MN; a granddaughter, Tamera (Paul) Langner of Alexandria, MN; four great-grandsons, Eddie and Mason Thorson, and Chase and Brady Kielmeyer; two great-granddaughters, Jolene Langner and Riylyn Kielmeyer; two step-grandsons, Ryan and Karl Neunenfeldt; two great-step-grandsons, Tristan and Darian; a brother-in-law, Orman (Kay) Kielmeyer of Fergus Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
