Alma H. Revering, 89, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. Alma was born on March 4, 1920 in Effington Township in Otter Tail County, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Bitzan) Terfehr. She grew up in Urbank and was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Church in Urbank. She attended school and graduated from Sacred Heart Parochial School in Urbank. On June 1, 1938 she married Florian B. Revering at Sacred Heart Church. The couple made their home on the Revering homestead in Effington Township. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and also Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, baking, canning and going to the farm. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Florian; two sisters, Clara Turchin and Joan Slye; four brothers, Al, Ray, Bert and Bill Terfehr and grandson, Marty Revering. Survivors include two sons, Roland (Bernice) Revering of Austin, TX, Charles (Deborah) Revering of Fergus Falls; one daughter, Germaine (Emilio) Montrae of Seattle, WA; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Teresa Miller of Kansas City, KS, Magdalen Politeski of Saskatchewan, Canada and Frances Sauer of Osakis, MN. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 with public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
