Alma Anita Margaret Nagatomo, 81, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 2, 1931, in Mobridge, South Dakota, the daughter of Olaf and Margareta (Anderson) Krefting. She graduated from high school in Minot, North Dakota in 1950. On July 30, 1955, she married William M. Nagatomo in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She worked for a short time at Trinity Hospital in Minot, and at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. Alma loved going fishing, working in the garden, sewing, and quilting. She was an excellent cook, and loved holidays spent with family. She also enjoyed going out to lunch with her neighborhood friends and an occasional trip to Hankinson. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family. Preceding her in death were her husband, William in 2010, her daughter, Georgia Dieseth, her parents, Olaf and Margit Krefting, and her sister, Sarah Loken. Survivors include her children: Nancy (Dave) Knutson of Fergus Falls, Margaret (Tim) Devorak of Pine River, MN, Mariko (Tom) Nagatomo-Devorak of Fargo, ND, and Emiko (Jeff) Stich of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren: Derek (Heather) Knutson, Jessica (Mike) Stich-Hennen, Leah (Nick) Henry, Willy Devorak, Elizabeth Dieseth, and Mary Devorak; great-grandchildren: Owen and Crosby Henry, Briggs Hennen, and Sierra Knutson; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Sharon Krefting of Pomona, CA, her sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Kenny Finneseth of Velva, ND, her brother-in-law, William Robinson of Grand Junction, CO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorials are preferred to the Lake Region Cancer Center.
