Allan Charles “Buzz” Stortroen, 62, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.
He was born March 17, 1951, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Paul and Burnette (Swatfager) Stortroen. He grew up in Fergus Falls where he attended school, and then went to Tech School. He worked construction in Kansas for many years, returning to Fergus Falls in 1997.
Allan was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, where he remained a member. As a child he participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Minnesota Vikings, and stock car racing.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, John.
Survivors include his son, Jordan (Sharlene) Stenseth of Medford, Oregon; four grandchildren: Ceara, Daniel, Joshua and Samuel Stenseth; his siblings: Paulette Anderson of Fergus Falls, Sarah (Mike) Koep of Clitherall, and Dan (Lori) Stortroen of Sioux Falls, SD; his aunt and uncle, Art and Cathy Stortroen of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A public Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at First Lutheran North Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls with Reverend Saul Stensvaag officiating.
