Alice Jane Rogholt

Alice Jane Cookman was born on November 2, 1919, in Aastad Township, Ottertail County, to Hosea and Grace (Rix) Cookman. Alice attended rural schools through the eighth grade.

On November 2, 1941, Alice married Lloyd Rogholt at the Hamar Church parsonage. Alice and Lloyd raised four boys at their farm in rural Elizabeth. Alice enjoyed taking care of her garden and animals. She and Lloyd enjoyed square dancing. After her husband’s death, she worked at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center dietary department from 1975 to 1988. She also took several trips to various places in the United States. She crocheted beautiful afghans, tablecloths, bedspreads and wall hangings among other items for members of her family and others too, until her eyesight no longer allowed her to do so. She loved to play cards and bingo.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2016, Alice passed peacefully away at PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls at the age of 97.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Hosea and Grace; her husband, Lloyd in 1975; son, LeRoy in 2007; two brothers: William Cookman and Robert Cookman: two sisters, Gladys Sanden and Margaret Carlson.

She is survived by three sons: Gary (Geri) Rogholt of Moorhead, Wayne (Gerri) Rogholt of Henning and Dale (Judy) Rogholt of Rice; daughter-in-law: Marilyn Rogholt of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: Kathryn, Michael, Karen, Christopher, Jeffrey, Phillip, Kathy, Michelle, Gerald, Terrance, Rob, and James; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a very special niece, Mary Erickson.

Memorials preferred to PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
