Alice Victoria Gullickson, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls under the care of Lakeland Hospice. She was born March 13, 1916, in rural Evansville, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Mathilda (Lindell) Wennerstrand. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville. She attended school at District #38. On October 22, 1933, she married Elmer C. Gullickson in Brandon, Minnesota. The couple lived near Evansville, Willmar, and Henning, before moving to Fergus Falls in 1947. Alice was mainly a homemaker, raising their nine children. When her children were older, she worked in various places in the area. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Alice enjoyed reading, embroidering, quilting, doing crossword puzzles, dancing, and rummage sales. She was also famous for her doughnut baking and lefse. She loved her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Elmer, in 2000; four daughters, LaVonne Meyers, Lila Torgusson, ViAnne Cole, and Geraldine Emerson; two grandsons, Gerry Lee Gullickson and Kevin Boll; a granddaughter, Debra Torgusson; and three great-grandchildren: Amanda Steon, Jade Cole, and Brandon Gullickson. Survivors include four sons: Delano (Dorothy) Gullickson of Rozet, Wyoming, Gerald (Delaine) Gullickson of Fergus Falls, Dennis (Sandra) Gullickson of Fergus Falls, and Daryl (Cheryl) Gullickson of Alexandria, MN; one daughter, Elaine (Bill) Boll of Richville, MN; 37 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
