Alice Mae Fick, 101, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice. She was born October 27, 1910, in Brainerd, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Priscilla (Southard) Foster. As a young child the family moved to Beach, North Dakota, where she grew up and attended country school. She moved to Fergus Falls with her family when she was 16 years old. On December 3, 1930, she married Henry J. Fick at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Friberg Township, rural Fergus Falls. After their marriage the couple resided in the Fergus Falls area. Alice was baptized and confirmed on a special day in 1946. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was active in Ladies Aid, and was also a member of the Homemakers Club. Alice enjoyed visiting and spending time with her family, especially all of the grandchildren, who will always remember her as being a sweet Grandma. She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Henry; her son, Glen; four sisters: Nelle, Rena, Mary and Hazelle; two brothers: Lyle and Claude; and a son-in-law, Harold Muhlenbeck. Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Hendrickx of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren: Paulette (Gale) Patterson, Peggy (Ray) Bernard, Harlan Muhlenbeck, James (Tracy) Muhlenbeck, and Allyson (Jarid) Norgren; 11 great-grandchildren: Chris, Casey, and Chad (Sheridan) Patterson, Kershann Erdman, Shane Emerson, Erin (Andy) Boyum, Kyle (Krista), Nathan, and Ben Muhlenbeck, and Dustin and Cody Norgren; six great-great-grandchildren: Domonic and Alyce Erdman, Gracelynn Kirklewski, and Austyn, Olyvia and Carsyn Boyum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
