Alice V Anderson

Alice (Mrs. Russell Q.) Anderson, 83, a resident of Fergus Falls, MN, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Alice was born on June 6, 1931, in Underwood, MN to Joseph and Leola (Washek) Ekeberg. She attended School District #109 and graduated with the Underwood High School Class of 1949. On November 16, 1952, Alice married Russell Q. Anderson in Sverdrup Lutheran Church in Underwood. For a short time she worked in sales at J.C. Penney but was a stay at home mother once her children were born.

Alice was a member of First Lutheran Church where she served as a Stephen Minister, was involved in Bible Study, the Missions Committee, Circle and a ministry of making and delivering Christmas food baskets. She helped make many quilts for Lutheran World Relief with her friends at Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife and nurturing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She gave herself in love to all of her family, as well as opening her heart and home to many others throughout the years.

She enjoyed gardening at the farm, quilting, and all kinds of work, but most often her work was with others in mind. The family’s memories of her include her servant heart for others, her generous hospitality, her wonderful meals served with love, her love for holding and rocking the babies and her tender-heartedness toward those in need. Alice and Russell, along with their family, enjoyed over 30 years at their lake cabin, sharing an abundance of fun times. She will be missed greatly and we are comforted to know that her eyes were on Christ, her Savior, in whose presence she is now rejoicing. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift of eternal life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Alice is survived by her husband, Russell Q. Anderson of Fergus Falls, daughters; LeAnn
(Les) Rogness and LoAnn (Pete) Martinson both of Fergus Falls and son, Keith (Mary) Anderson of Woodville, WI, grandchildren; Ryan Rogness, Brent Rogness, Rochelle (Kory) Kowalski, Carrie (Joel) Bjorge, Allison (Bruce) Loerzel, Kyle (Sarah) Anderson, Trevor Anderson, Reid (Kayla) Anderson, her great-grandchildren; Christopher Bjorge, Nora and Sophia Loerzel, Hunter Kowalski and Warren Anderson as well as her sister Joyce (John) Clausen of Fergus Falls.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 4 to 7 pm with a 6:00 pm Prayer Service at the Olson Funeral Home
Services: Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
