Alice Aanden

Alice B. Aanden, 82, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.  Alice was born on August 26, 1929 on the family farm in rural Underwood, the daughter of Ole and Agnes (Anderson) Wold.  She grew up in rural Underwood, attending Barnhard School District #182. She was baptized and confirmed at Tingvold Lutheran Church. During her younger years she worked at Habberstad’s and cleaned cabins on Otter Tail Lake. On September 15, 1956 she married Robert Aanden at Tingvold Lutheran Church. In the early 1960’s she began working at the Pioneer Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. She then went to work for Lake Region Hospital, retiring in 2000 after 34 years of service. Alice found joy in reaching out and giving to others. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ole and Agnes Wold; husband, Robert, who died in 1990; siblings, Lorraine (Selvin) Klaksvik, Arnold (Eunice) Wold, Clara Johnson, Jeanette (Andy) Lindquist, John Wold, and two infant brothers; and brother-in-law, Willis Schoening. Survivors include her three children, John, Debbie and James all of Fergus Falls; sister, Doris Schoening and brother-in-law, Carl Johnson, both of Fergus Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation:   5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a public prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
