Alfred V. Trenne, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and formerly of Fergus Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in Michigan at the age of 100 years, 1 month and 2 days. He was born March 27, 1909 in Oscar Township of Otter Tail County, the son of William and Ida Trenne. He continued to live and farm in Oscar Township until his retirement in 1970. In 1973 he moved to a new home in Fergus Falls, and lived there until 2001 when he moved to an assisted living home in Farmington Hills, MI to be closer to family. Alfred will be remembered for his love of dancing, especially the polka, which he continued to dance into his 90’s. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Inez Trenne and Frances Hoffman, brother, Walter Trenne, and loving wife of 56 years, Edmee. Survivors include his daughter, Arlette (Donald) Lettie of Columbus, OH; son, Myron (Karen) Trenne of Brighton, MI; grandsons, Jason Lettie of Raleigh, NC and Rodney Trenne of Salt Lake City, UT; and great-granddaughters, Emma and Ava Rose Lettie. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Olson Funeral Home with a brief prayer service immediately following the visitation.
