Alda Anderson

Alda Mae Anderson Alda Mae Anderson, 84, a lifelong resident of Foxhome, died Thursday, November 8, 2007, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls, MN, surrounded by her loving family, under the care of Hospice. Alda Mae was born January 9, 1923, in Andrea Township, rural Foxhome, MN to Charles and Alma (Wallin) Steiner. She was baptized and confirmed at Hamar Lutheran Church of Rothsay. She grew up on the family farm in Andrea Township and attended grade school in Akron Township District #24 and Fergus Falls high school graduating in 1941. She then attended Minnesota State Teachers College in Moorhead, graduating in 1943 with an elementary teaching degree. She taught school in Everdell from 1943-1945 and Rothsay elementary school from 1945-1946. On November 28, 1946, she married Donald Anderson of Foxhome at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay. They made their home on the family farm two miles north of Foxhome. After raising her children she was employed at the 3-M Company in Wahpeton, ND for 9 years. She was a member of Foxhome Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, a 50-year member of Andrea Ambitious Homemakers Club, was a 4-H club leader, and a member of the advisory committee of Fergus Falls Community College. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, embroidery, reading, and traveling with neighbors, friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Donald, brother Daryl Steiner, and infant brother Calvin Steiner. Survivors include children, Carolyn (Ron) LeClaire of Bemidji, MN, Linda (Jerome) Cronin of Cokato, MN, Diane (Steve) Cavazos of Foxhome, MN, Jim (Becky) Anderson of Omaha, NE, and Mark (Anita) Anderson of Foxhome, MN; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandsons, and a brother, Robert Steiner of Rothsay.
