Albert Ludden

August 14, 1942 — November 8, 2016

Albert Ludden, 74, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at his home.

He was born August 14, 1942, at El Moro Castle, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of Albert and Julia (Dueńo-Ludden) Lawson. He lived in many locations while attending elementary and high school. Most of all he enjoyed living in the Caribbean and flying with his father into the many blue water bays. After a short, but very courageous battle against pancreatic cancer, he is now flying again with his father, enjoying those beautiful islands.

After graduation from high school in New Hampshire, Albert received his undergraduate degree in Arizona and his graduate degree in Colorado. Shortly after college, he enlisted in the Army and spent a year in Vietnam. Following a two year commitment to serving his country, he started his career with the Federal Government in Washington D.C. and later transferred to Tamarac National Wild Life Refuge near Detroit Lakes, MN, where he met his wife, Bonnie. They transferred to Ohio, then Bismarck, ND, where he continued his career for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a Contaminate Biologist. While Albert and Bonnie were living in North Dakota, their daughter, Tami was born, and she brought much joy into their lives.

They transferred to Fergus Falls to get back to the lakes country, where the family enjoyed many happy years. In 1993, Albert retired from the Federal Government and started a second career with the Broen Memorial Home, working there for 14 years, up until he learned he had pancreatic cancer. While working at the Broen Home, he made many new friends and considered it a mission to nurse the sick and elderly.

Al and Bonnie were blessed with two very special friends. While together they enjoyed many fun times trying to solve the world’s problems.

Survivors include his beloved best friend and wife, Bonnie; a daughter, Tami (Josh) Johnson of Fargo, ND; a brother, Larry (Judie) of Reno, NV; sister-in-law, Kathy Wouters of Vergas and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his mother and father-in-law; a brother-in-law and a nephew.
