Agnes (Magnuson) Hviding, 87 a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Fargo, ND and Hendrum, MN died Saturday, September 13, 2014.
Agnes was born in her home near Grandin, ND on December 24th, 1926. She graduated from Halstad, MN High School in 1944. She and her husband Paul Hviding were married on March 30th 1947 and owned and operated the Hendrum Oil Company in Hendrum, Minnesota. In 1984, Agnes moved to Fargo, ND where she worked at Dayton’s/Macy’s until moving to Fergus Falls, MN in 2001. She continued working at Herberger’s in Fergus Falls until 2010. She was known for her hospitality, caring heart, and for being an active member in her community and church.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Peder and Serina Magnuson; her husband Paul Hviding of Hendrum, MN; a grandson Michael Tungseth of Fergus Falls, MN; and five siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Loren) Tungseth of Fergus Falls, MN; her Grandsons Ryan (Mary Ellen) Tungseth of Fergus Falls, MN, and Trevor (Karin) Tungseth of Minneapolis, MN; three great-grandchildren Milton, Nora, and Serena Tungseth; a sister Thelma Smerud of Minneapolis, MN; a sister-in-law Ione Magnuson of Moorhead, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday with a 6 p.m. public prayer service at the funeral home. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Calvary Free Lutheran church, Fergus Falls.
