Adell Janis Frovarp, 68, a resident of Dalton, died Monday, August 5, 2013, at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota, with her loved ones by her side.
She was born December 30, 1944, in Dalton, Minnesota, the daughter of Olaf and Josie (Elliot) Odegaard. She grew up in rural Dalton where she attended country school, and later Fergus Falls High School. She was confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton.
On December 7, 1963, she married Gaylord Frovarp at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dalton. They made their home in Fargo for a few years, and later moved to Dalton. Over the years, Adell was employed by Medallion Kitchens and various factories. In 1986 she and her husband started their own business, Gamaliel Glass. For the past 20 years she was a waitress at the Big Chief Truck Stop and Café where she enjoyed her co-workers and serving her customers.
Adell was a member of Hilltop Celebration Church in Fergus Falls. Her faith in God was very strong. She displayed her love for worship to the Lord joyfully through song.
Adell had a creative spirit full of life. Her uniqueness was displayed through her acrylic painting, refinishing furniture, flower gardens, and her trendy clothing. She loved hot weather and relaxing in her swimming pool. “Love a Child” was only a glimpse of her generosity and continual sacrificial love for others. She was the center of her family and they loved her deeply.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Gaylord in 2011, and a brother, Leonard Odegaard.
Survivors include four daughters: Terry (Greg) Benzi-Ellingson of Dalton, Jodie (Radwan) Chamoun of Fergus Falls, Stacey Frovarp (Christopher Anderson) of Alexandria, and Lisa (Mike) Anderson of Barnesville; seven grandchildren: Christophe (Jenna) Benzi, Sebastien Benzi, and Davide, Emmanuel, Lily, Joseph, and Rose Chamoun; three step-grandchildren: Brittany Ellingson, Haley Ellingson, and Tanner Ellingson; a new great-grandchild due in January, and two step-great-grandchildren: Kalista Bitzan and Wyatt Meyer; sisters, Ann (Roy) Nolte of Moorhead, Darlene Langlie of Blaine, Mary (Rodney) Moebius of Dalton, and Sandra Odegaard of Fergus Falls; brothers: Eddie (Char) Odegaard of Florida, John (Joanne) Odegaard of Anoka, and Gilbert (Joyce) Odegaard of Evansville; a sister-in-law, Sharon Odegaard of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Hilltop Celebration Church in Fergus Falls
