Ada Sundberg, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Lake Region Healthcare.
Ada Maxine (LeMont) Sundberg was born July 29, 1927 in Battle Lake, Minnesota to Frances and Edith (Burton) LeMont. She grew up on a farm in Elizabeth, MN, attending elementary school
in Elizabeth and graduated from Washington High School in Fergus Falls in 1945.
She worked in Fergus Falls for Olson Auto and Electric and then attended Northwestern Bible College. She married Al Sundberg on August 19, 1950. They moved to Minneapolis where he attended Dunwoody Institute and she worked for Munsingwear Industry. After Al’s graduation they moved to Colorado where they raised their two children. She was a homemaker and later worked for Mission Hills Baptist Church as their financial secretary.
They enjoyed many of their retirement years living in Bailey, Colorado before returning to Fergus Falls in 2000. Ada enjoyed traveling, reading, baking, gardening and opening up their home to many visitors. She volunteered at Mill Street Residence for 14 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Albin; two sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter; Susan (Ray) Benhardus of Underwood, a son, Scott (Wendy)
Sundberg of Lancaster, PA, four grandchildren; Steven (Trudy) Densmore of Fergus Falls,
Christine (Aaron) Torfin of Dalton, Leif Sundberg and Sven Sundberg of Lancaster PA; seven great grandchildren, Noah, Gideon, Malachi, Mikayla, Ashton, Louden and Laney.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Crossroads Church in Fergus Falls, with Reverend Ned Eerdmans and Scott Sundberg officiating. Burial will take place at Silent Vale Cemetery in rural Underwood at a later date.
