A. Gunderson

Alvin Benjamin Gunderson, 100, formerly of Dalton, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He was born July 19, 2006, in Dalton, Minnesota, the son of Ole and Matte (Volen) Gunderson. He grew up on the family farm in Tordenskjold Township, where he lived until 2000, when he moved to the Broen Memorial Home. He attended School District #20. Benjamin loved hunting and taking care of his livestock, playing cards, and following the grain markets. He was a life member of the Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church, and was confirmed at the Sarpsborg Lutheran Church of Dalton. He will be remembered for his love of the land, his faith and his family. Preceding him in death were his parents; and all of his siblings, including four sisters: Mathilda, Minnie, Lydia, and Evelyn; and five brothers: Albert, Odin, Anton, Edgar, and Gilbert. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church, rural Underwood, Minnesota.
