Bruce Michael Ritchie, 67, of Fergus Falls, died peacefully in the hands of his loving wife, Julie, and the excellent care of LB Hospice on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at his home.
Bruce was born on June 2, 1951 in Watertown, SD, the son of Michael Henry and Junez (Olson) Ritchie. They resided in Glenwood with his older brother, DeRon and his dad ran the Victory Café. Bruce graduated from Tech High School in 1969. After his dad’s death, the family moved to Alexandria and later to St. Cloud. In 1989, he graduated from St. Cloud State University.
The two most joyous things in Bruce’s life were when he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1991, and the other was his marriage to Julie Renee Kenyon on February 22, 1992. The couple resided in Roseau, MN, where they focused on their ministry. In 2001 they returned to Fergus Falls to continue their ministry and also to care for aging parents. During those years, he worked at Service Food until his retirement in June of 2013. Bruce used his years of retirement to spend more time helping others to learn about our wonderful God Jehovah and to teach Bible truths to others.
Bruce enjoyed artistic drawing, including drawing portraits and collecting baseball cards.
Preceding him in death were his parents; aunts, uncles and cousin, Jerome Olson.
Survivors include his wife, Julie of Fergus Falls; brother, DeRon (Bonnie) Ritchie and their children, Torrey, Lori and DeRon Jr.; his father and mother-in-law, Glen and Mary Kenyon. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
