Teresa “Tess” Carol Carlson, 46, died unexpectedly in East Nashville, Tennessee.
Teresa was born on August 8, 1970, to Carol (Frautschi) and Larry Carlson. She grew up in Erhards Grove Township and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1988. She attended Moorhead State University where she received her B.A. in elementary education. Teresa taught school for a year in Detroit Lakes and later moved to Minneapolis where she was a substitute teacher and story teller.
In the early 1990’s she moved to Nashville, TN, and enrolled in Eastern Tennessee State University where she received her Master’s in storytelling. While there she worked for Sony Music Company, waited tables and wrote songs and stories.
Her interests included pageants, where she became the Miss N.W. Water Carnival Queen and was runner up in the Miss Minnesota, USA pageant. She enjoyed writing, teaching Bible studies, and song writing. She especially loved country music.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Henry and Margaret Frautschi and Jerutia and Helge Carlson.
She is survived by her parents Carol and Larry of Pelican Rapids; a brother, Tom (Jessi Kulsrud) Carlson of Pelican Rapids; nieces and nephews: Tate and Oakley Carlson, Casey and Sophia Kulsrud and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
